@Stephanie,

Yes, it is a crazy time, but a great time to look for new opportunities. I say that because it is good to not have a choice about making a new choice. Most people have trouble making real changes in their lives. This crisis is forcing one for many and you can see that as an opportunity or a burden.

Like your site as well!

I see bits of myself in both you and your brother. I turned 40 last year and (gulp) middle age looks to be an interesting time in my life - for me, my kids, my husband and also my parents.

This economic crisis finally hit me after 15 years of stable employment (I'm a lawyer), and its time to get creative.

Wishing you the best, Stephanie

@Jenny - Thanks! Life is about more than money, and times like this remind me of that.

You wouldn't be Gen X without constantly switching between jobs regardless
if it was your choice or not. I am not sure how I would feel being at a place for
10 years. Even at my last two companies I changed roles and titles every 6
months or so, always wondering when my number would come up. I have no
trust in employers being honest anymore!
